Amira SOLANO Is Director of Environment Impact and Renewable Sourses on the Environmental and Natural Resources Secretarie (SEMARNAT) Berore That, She was adviser on waste solid management,in Mexico City Goverment. She was Adviser of the Environmental and Water Secretarie , on Morelos State, She also was adisor of the Mexican Parlament of the National Action Party (PAN) in the Environmental Comission of the Party, She was Deputy delegate of environmental management in SEMARNAT (Environmental and Natural Resourses Secretary)in Quintana Roo State, since August 2003 until now, she was encharged of the Delegation for 3 months (Jan. Feb. Mar. 2004) She was director of Solano Consultores S.A. de C.V., a Mexican leader consultant company in Hydraulics, Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, where she used to supervise the quality of the company's environmental studies. She also was general manager in a company: Environmental Engineering Services S.A. de C.V. In this position since 1994, she was responsible for directing and coordinating two divisions. The training division produces courses on environmental issues, chemical analytical instrumentation and human development. The environmental engineering division is involved in environmental impact studies, environmental risk analysis, environmental audits, waste water studies and projects, and solid wastes studies. From 1994 to 1995, she was a consultant on environmental control regulation for the Sustainable Development and Environment Ministery of Bolivia. From 1991 to 1994, she was general manager in ABC Studies and Projects S.A. de C.V. (a subsidiary of Jones & Neuse), where she directed, coordinated and conducted environmental studies.

A. Solano worked for the government from 1988 to 1991 in the National Water Commission (CNA) as an hydraulic specialist and from 1978 to 1988 in the Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources Secretary (SARH) occupying several positions from assistant to project head. She was Presidentof the Mexican Society of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences in Mexico City A.C, vice-president of the Mexican Federation of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences A.C (FEMISCA, actually she coordinates that vicepresidency). Her bachelor's degree in biology is from UNAM (1986).
