MarÃa Amparo MARTINEZ-ARROYO is a researcher in the Atmospheric Sciences Center of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), where she conducts extensive research on the relationship between atmosphere-biosphere focusing on aquatic primary producers. She is involved with an interdisciplinary course about regional and global environmental problems for postgraduate students. M.A. MartÃnez-Arroyo has a special interest in the dynamics of processes linking physical, biological, chemical and social aspects of environment. She has attended numerous international and regional conferences to discuss diverse aspects of marine phycology and ecology and she has published various works on the subject. M.A. MartÃnez-Arroyo has a Ph.D. in biology from the Universidad de Barcelona in Spain. Her master's and bachelor's degrees in biology are from UNAM in Mexico City.
