Aron MABAYE holds a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Studies/Wildlife Management from the University of Maryland, USA; M.Sc. Limnology, from the University of Liverpool, UK; B.Sc. (Hons) Zoology from the University of Delhi, India and a Certificate in Aquatic Resource research, management and aquaculture from the former USSR. Prior to joining LEAD-Southern Africa as Academic Coordinator in 1999, he had served in the Department of National Parks & Wildlife Management as Principal Ecologist, Chief Ecologist and Assistant Director for seven years. During this time he was responsible for coordinating wildlife research and development activities of professional staff. Previously, he had served as Research Fellow at the University of Zimbabwe. During his 14 year working period in Zambia, he served as Project Co-Manager of an UNDP/FAO Research Project manned by internationally recruited experts; and later served as the Director. Aron Mabaye has had extensive experience in working with academics at scientific institutions and universities in Asia, Europe and North America as well as in liaising with NGOs such as UNDP, FAO, UNEP, CIDA, IDRC, DANIDA, NORAD, SIDA, PEACE CORPS, VSO and many others.
