Toshiro YANAI is director of KEIDANEWN Nature Conservation Fund (KNCF). He is responsible for developing and assessing NGO projects in nature conservation, coordinating inspection missions and supporting the editing of KNCF's bulletin. Before joining KNCF in June 2000, he was controller of the Eslon Division of Sekisui America Corporation. After closing on the sale of this division, he returned to Japan to represent Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., on loan at KNCF.

In addition to experience in the accounting and credit field during his long career at Sekisui, he gained foreign business experience during five years of residence in the United States. He is now interested in learning more about nature conservation and building a network of key persons from NGOs in this field. His other interests include the future of biotechnology and listening to jazz. His degree in business administration is from Kobe University.
