(RSET) is a specialized consulting service company, focused to provide entire gamut of environmental services for water resource development projects and is a renowned name in hydro power sector with most of the active private and government clientele of the hydro power sector.
Prior to this he was Head of Environment and Urban Water with DHI Water and Environment (formerly Danish Hydraulic Institute) where he is primarily involved in water resources modelling and decision support systems in water resources development and management. Vimal Garg is B.Tech (Civil Engineering, 1990) from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Earlier, he has worked with WAPCOS, Water and Power Consultancy Services, a government undertaking under the Ministry of Water Resources in India for about 15 years and had worked on more than 70 consultancy assignments, funded by various national and international agencies, in the field of environment mainly related to EIA and Socio-economic aspects of water resources development with about several assignments as coordinator of team consisting of experts from various agencies and disciplines.
He was core member of the team of international experts that prepared 'Guidelines for Sustainable Water Resources Development and Management' and a team of water experts from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and India working on Water and Security in South Asia.
He has also done certificate courses on 'Satellite Image interpretation & GIS' from Environmental Systems Research Institute and 'Management of reservoir sedimentation' from Engineering Staff College of India and published a few papers in national and international journals.
He was identified by Committee on International Collaboration-International Water Resources Association (CIC-IWRA), Third World Centre for Water Management, Mexico (TWCWM) and Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) as future water leader. He is the youngest and only Indian in a group of 14 professionals selected from across the globe.
