Timotheus Lesmana Wanadjaja has been working as General Manager at Sinarmas since 1997. The company was founded in 1972 and has grown to become Indonesia’s largest pulp and paper group. He is responsible for the business development area.Currently (from April 2005) he is setting up a new department at Sinar Mas Group (the holding of Asia Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd) for corporate social responsibility and sustainable development – Corporate Responsibility Compliance and Sustainability Department and Sinar Mas Foundation in order to leverage the owner social responsibility program to give more benefit for the stakeholder. Sinar Mas Group have been 6 (six) division of main businesses: pulp and paper manufacturing division; forestry and mining division; agribusiness and beverage division; property and real estate division; telecommunication and infrastructure division; and financial services division.Sinar Mas Group provide a wide range of essential products for customers while generating significant employment opportunities and revenues for Indonesia’s emerging economy. We view the discipline of sustainability as an integral part of our business.Achieving leadership in the field of social and environmental sustainability is a goal that is vital to the vision and mission of the group and our management.As a General Manager, his responsibilities are to identify and establish strategies, procedures, systems, and controls to enhance operational the corporate responsibility of the group; plan and organize resources for all projects to ensure that they are being effectively carried out; and responsible for developing and managing corporate communications effectively to increase group image.He holds a law degree from the Trisakti University – Jakarta, Indonesia and completed his MBA degree at IPPM – Jakarta, Indonesia and MH (Master of Law – Environmental Law) degree at University of Indonesia – Jakarta, Indonesia. And now, he is preparing for the doctoral degree at Faculty of Law – University of Indonesia – Jakarta, Indonesia with subject of dissertation: Social and Legal Issues of Deforestation in the International Response to Climate Change.
