Ari SAPTARI is a researcher at the Center for Research on Environment of Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia (PPLH-ITB), where she organizes and oversees research activities mostly on human settlement and industrial development issues. She is also an instructor in the courses of Environmental Impact Assesment which are regularly conducted in her office.
A. Saptari has a master's degree in environmental studies from York University in Ontario, Canada, and a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics and rural sociology from Bogor Agricultural University in Indonesia, where she also completed an advanced training course in environmental impact assessment. She pursued additional training on the role of women in Indonesian development at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
