Anders HAGFELDT has been an assistant professor in the department of physical chemistry at Uppsala University since October 1994. His research focuses on photo-electrochemistry, surface physics, and chemistry. He has received awards for his research from the Swedish societies of sciences. From an applied viewpoint, his research is directed toward photovoltaics, batteries, displays and catalysis. He is a member of the executive committee of Angstrom Solar Center, a new national solar energy center. He is also participating in a joint governmental and industrial program called Vision 21: Energy Systems for the Future. He hopes that his experience in the LEAD program will help him to integrate different aspects of renewable energy into his work and improve his interdisciplinary approach.
