Volker ANGRES manages the environment department at ZDF, one of the two big public German television companies.He is producing and presenting the weekly environmental program named 'ZDF.Umwelt'. For the bilingual german/french channel 'arte' he his responsible for the monthly magazin 'Environment'. Mr. Angres two previous positions have been at public television stations in the state of Bavaria (1st channel, ARD) and in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, where he was part of the economics department. Most of his documentaries concern the current debates over macroeconomic policy. He aims to provide insight into the development of policy mechanisms that balance economic and environmental interests e.g. in the field of renewable energies. Mr. Angres is interested in searching for new approaches to conceptualize the role of the media in sustainable development. He has a degree in journalism.
