DING Wei currently works for the China Raw Silk Importing and Exporting Corporation, where she deals with aspects of international trade and sales in India, Thailand, Bangladesh, and several countries in the Middle East. Her previous position within the company was in silk export administration. It was there that she first began to take note of the pollution and resulting development problems caused by the Chinese silk industry. Through the LEAD program, she would like to address and solve these types of industrial problems. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics at the University of International Business and Economy in 1992.
