DAI Xiaosu is Director of Climate Change Division of China Meteorological Administration (CMA). She is responsible for making scientific research planning in the field of climate change of CMA, coordinating the participation of CMA in national and international research activities related to climate change, organizing related national and international workshops and meetings. As one of members of Chinese delegation, she has participated in the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for many times.
DAI Xiaosu got her PhD degree in Atmospheric Chemistry and Climatology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994. Since then, she had worked as an associate professor for the National Climate Center of China for ten years. She was responsible for assessing impacts of climate change on national economical sectors such as agriculture, energy, ecosystem, etc. Dr. Dai also participated in policy analysis and strategy study related to the implementation of UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Moreover, she attended numerous national and international conferences and published some papers in the field of climate studies. From 1999 to 2001, Dr. DAI worked for the Technical Support Unit of Working Group I of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as a visiting scientist, which was located in the United Kingdom Meteorological Office. From May 2004, she began to pursue the current career.
