As Marketing Manager for OCETA, Ms. Wark is responsible for the marketing and promotion of all of OCETA's environmental products, programs and services. These include; the Ontario Waste Materials Exchange (OWME); consulting services to small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the area of environmental technology development and commercialization; Eco-Efficiency Innovation; Community Based Sustainability Programs; Technology Profiles; and Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Canada.

Ms. Wark has significant experience in the area of industrial waste management and has been successful with raising awareness of the OWME's services to manufacturing companies in various sectors across Ontario. The OWME is a program designed to facilitate the reduction, reuse, recycling and composting of waste materials generated by industry and commerce. As such, Ms. Wark works directly with the OWME's funding partners to target companies within their scope and in addition, markets the program to other prospective partners.

In addition, Ms. Wark is the Project Manager for OCETA's role in the CIDA funded Waste-Econ Program: Making Wastes Work for the Economy through the Development of Integrated Waste Management in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Ms. Wark is interested in working with various Vietnamese partners to share her expertise in the area of waste exchanges, industrial waste management, and reuse and recycling. The intention is to determine the best opportunity for developing and implementing a pilot waste exchange program in an industrial area near Ho Chi Minh City.

Viive brings with her 10 years of professional and academic experience in the business and environment field. She was with Loblaw Companies Limited for 5 years, as Manager of Environmental Affairs, and prior to joining OCETA in the fall of 1999, Viive was an environmental consultant with IndEco Strategic Consulting Inc. As Manager of Business and Environment, she was responsible for marketing and business development but was also involved directly with client projects. She researched, analyzed and reported on waste management, producer responsibility, deposit-return systems, municipal recycling programs, environmental management and planning and other environment/economy issues.

Viive also has extensive international experience that includes working as a foreign advisor for the Ministry of Environment in Tallinn, Estonia.

Viive holds a Master of Environmental Studies from York University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University.
