Ms. Nizami holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in forestry with a specialization in social forestry from the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), Peshawar. Being the only female forestry graduate in Balochistan, she was offered the position of Program Specialist in Forestry in the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP), where she supervised nursery raising, range management, training and general environmental awareness programs in North Balochistan. She has worked closely with rural men and women, often dealing first-hand with poverty, illiteracy and other problems of the region. After four years of her services in BRSP, Ms. Nizami joined Enterprise and Development Consulting (EDC) as Assistant Manager, Natural Resources. Her services have also been seconded to the Social Forestry Project, Malakand Dir (Saidu Sharif, Swat) as Monitoring &Evaluation Specialist where she is involved in conducting various studies on the effects of project interventions (extension, forestry, institutional development) in the area. She is currently a Program Officer NRM at with SDC. Ms. Nizami has also has informal associations with PTV and Radio Pakistan where she has been conducting discussion programs, interviews, and on a more light-hearted note, quiz and music programs.
