Adeola Omotunde is an indigene of Ibadan in Oyo State,Nigeria. She worked briefly as aprogramme officer with a youth NGO based in Yaba, Lagos, with focus on youth empowerment, habitat and education of female children.
She is presently a chief environmental scientist in the pollution control and Environmental health department of the Federal Ministry of Environment.
She started her career within the federal civil service as an environmental scientist at the federal environmental protection Agency (FEPA) in 1997. She was at the National reference laboratory of the agency for two years before she was posted to the industrial compliance and hazardous chemical management division of the ministry. The agency later became the federal Ministry of Environment in 1999.
She has a total of thirteen years working experience in environmental management.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Ibadan in 1992, a Masters of Science degree in microbiology from the same university in 1996 with specialization in environmental microbiology.
She has been involved in promoting and ensuring compliance of manufacturing industries to environmental laws and management of hazardous chemical from cradle to grave. She has also been part of the national implementation of the phase out of ozone depleting substances in Nigeria.
She has facilitated and participated in several workshops and seminars on environmental issues. She is good at public speaking and anchoring programmes and events.
She is a member of Nigerian Emvironmental society(NES) and a chartered member of the waste management society of Nigeria(WAMASON). She is interested in the use of renewable energy especially from waste and biomass.
