Thomas FONDJO is currently Expert & Central Africa Focal Point of the Protected Areas Programme of the International Union for the Conservation of the Nature- Central and West Africa Programme (UICN-PACO).
After having proven reliable in two nationals NGOs, he joined IUCN in 2003 as Technical Assistant of the Regional Programme Coordinator within the ex- Regional Office for Central Africa (IUCN-ROCA). He also worked during one as Facilitator of the implementation of the CEFDHAC (Central Africa Humid and Moist Forests Ecosystems) reformed before joining the protected areas Programme. His experience combines strategic and operational planning, organisational and institutional development, projects/programmes design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising, research and training, as well at the national as regional level in particular within the framework of the “Parks for peace†project in the Great Lakes region.
He holds a “DEA†in Environmental Law and a 3rd Cycle Doctorate in “Fundamental rights†to which many trainings are added: Strategic planning; Design and management of the project cycle; Monitoring and evaluation of the projects and programmes; Integration of the environment in the development co-operation; Biodiversity conservation policy; Environment and sustainable development; Climate change and protected areas.
