Trine is the Network and Communications Manager for LEAD International, and is responsible for managing the Fellows’ network and co-ordinate joint activities and projects to increase engagement and raise the profile of the organisation.

Prior to LEAD, Trine was working through VSO as a capacity builder for a network of civil society organisations in Nigeria. In this role she was involved in organisational development and capacity building in leadership, information technology, communications, project cycle management, rights based advocacy and resource mobilisation.

Trine has also worked at the UK based charity Gemin-i, where she set up and ran an award winning Rafi.ki online community for schools involving thousands of schools around the world in over 100 countries. Apart from this community she also managed a number of interactive web based projects involving a wide variety of partners including government, media, international NGO’s and faith based organisations. She has also worked in capacity building roles in Brazil and Tanzania.

She is Danish but grew up overseas and has lived in a number of countries in Africa as well as Portugal and is a fluent Portuguese speaker. She came to the UK to study and has a BA in African Studies and Geography and an MA in Gender and Development with distinction.
