Trinitas Chimwemwe Senganimalunje is the Principal of Malawi College of forestry and
Wildlife which is mandated to train Forestry and Wildlife Management officers at
technician level. In addition, she is a trainer specializing in Community Based Natural
Resource management (CBNRM), Extension and Facilitation skills. Trinitas is an avid
promoter of Participatory Forest Management (PFM) and was part of the team which developed PFM
Standards and Guidelines, a framework for promoting and facilitating PFM in Malawi, as well as introduction of
the same to frontline staff through a learningâ€byâ€doing process.
Regionally, Trinitas is a member of the Regional CBNRM forum comprising members from Malawi, Namibia,
Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa through the Regional CBNRM training group for
which she is the contact person for Malawi.
She graduated from the University of Malawi, Bunda College with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 1992.
She has a Master’s degree in Rural Resource Management from University of Wales, Bangor (UK). In addition
she has several certificates in different aspects of community based natural resources management.
