Zhou Xiang, majored in chemistry education, began to work with WCS after graduation in June 2005. He works on the three cooperation’s: TCM program(endangered medicinal animals and plants protection);WCS Shanghai Office with NGO and the mass media; WCS in China with environmental societies in universities. He participates in the program of re-introduction of Chinese Alligators (parts of programs of WCS in China) and protection of Cuora aurocapitatas, the program of Amur Tiger protection, endangered medicinal animals and plants protection and educational programs, etc.

Zhou Xiang’ Present position and responsibilities: a member of the council of the culture promotion committee in State Environmental Protection Administration, president of wild life protection of exchange center in Shanghai Oasis, Standing director of Green Anhui in Anhui Province, counselor of environmental protection society of West Anhui University.
Zhou Xiang established the environmental protection society of West Anhui University in 2001 and set up the first nongovernmental organization of environmental protection named Green Anhui in An Hui Province. He was appointed member of the council by the culture promotion committee in State Environmental Protection Administration.

Zhou Xiang organized to train heads of environmental protection society in universities in An Hui and was responsible for the program of “Green Journalists in An Hui”.All these were aimed at improving their conception of sustainable development.

In September 2004, on behalf of Green Anhui, Zhou Xiang attended the Ford Environmental Protection Prize Conference, one of the highest prizes on environmental protection in China, and won the prize with the first rank. Afterwards, he attended the awarding ceremony in the People’s Hall. In the year 2005, He led their team to win the “Society Entrepreneur Ecology” prize.
