Rachel Phillips joined LEAD International as Director of Learning and Programmes in March 2013.

Rachel joins LEAD from the Earthwatch Institute where, as International Director of Learning, she was responsible for developing Earthwatch's vision and strategy for learning from the ground up and for building the organisational capacity to consistently delivery high quality sustainability learning programmes globally. Her work included building and developing an international team of learning practitioners, alongside establishing process and systems for the design, delivery and impact assessment of Earthwatch's sustainability learning programmes. Rachel has extensive experience of setting up and overseeing experiential & blended learning programmes across multiple sectors and geographies, including the award winning HSBC Climate Partnership programme and Sustainability Leadership Programme.

Before joining Earthwatch Institute, Rachel worked in executive coaching and corporate leadership/team development, designing and leading values-based leadership development programmes. She developed an innovative approach to leadership and team development, blending experiential group learning with community projects from international NGO partners, including Save the Children.

Rachel holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and a Masters in Sustainability and Responsibility. She is a certified NLP Master Practitioner and trained as co-active coach with Coaches Training Institute (CTI). She started her career in sales and marketing, working in a variety of national and international roles for Unilever & PepsiCo. In 2003, she took a career break and spent 6 months travelling around S-E Asia, China and India on the back of a truck!
