
As Vice President Corporate Responsibility, Kate is responsible for IHG's community engagement programmes around the world. These programmes include the IHG Academy which helps improve the ability of local people to find jobs in the hotel industry and creates a pipeline of trained and motivated potential recruits who will deliver better service to guests. Kate is also responsible for the IHG Shelter in a Storm Programme which helps IHG hotels and corporate offices respond quickly and effectively when natural and manmade disasters strike. A key component of this programme is the IHG Shelter Fund which is made up of fundraising efforts of people across the world of IHG throughout the year. This enables IHG to provide funds to our hotels, employees and the local community as soon as disaster strikes – providing vital assistance right away.
Kate joined Intercontinental Hotels Group in February 2006 and worked in the Global Strategy Team for five years with responsibility for the Europe and Middle East and Africa Region before joining the Corporate Responsibility Team in April 2011.
Prior to joining IHG, Kate worked as a management consultant for Marakon Associates where she played a leading role in major strategy projects for clients across the consumer goods, financial services, manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries.
Kate holds a Bachelor's Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and a Master's Degree from the London School of Economics.
