Anglophone West Africa
LEAD Anglophone West Africa was one of the first LEAD Member Programmes established in 1991. LEAD is hosted in Nigeria by the Foundation for Environmental Development and Education in Nigeria (FEDEN), a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1991 to promote awareness on the environment and sustainable development in Nigeria and enhance the building of local capacity required to drive the nation’s transition to a more sustainable development.

LEAD’s mission is to inspire leadership for a sustainable world. Commonwealth of Independent States
LEAD CIS was one of the seven programmes initially set up by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1991 and recruited its first Cohort in 1992, the year of the Rio Earth Summit. The Programme runs in 12 countries in the Former Soviet Union: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Europe
Established in 1996, LEAD Europe joined LEAD’s founding members in the developing world to fill a gap in the global representation of the LEAD network. LEAD Europe Fellows are based in more than 27 countries across the European region and beyond, encompassing dozens of nationalities. They represent an invaluable resource of knowledge and skills for sustainable development in a diverse range of sectors.
LEAD Europe is currently administered from the LEAD International offices in London.

LEAD Mexico was one of the seven programmes initially set up by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1991. It is hosted by El Colegio de Mexico, a free, non-profit, higher education organisation established in 1940. LEAD Mexico’s programme joins and shares El Colegio de Mexico’s academic activities in a number of fields including public administration, international affairs, economics, demographic and population studies, urban development, Asian and African studies.
